Control of petrol engine with direct fuel injection

The control has an injection time adjustment field for a stratified charge combustion mode, for a smooth combustion mode, for a suction injection in a double injection mode and for a compression stroke injection in a double injection mode. The fields are referenced to, to set the injection timing according to the type of fuel injection. The fuel injection valve (2) in each cylinder is controlled by an injection pulse signal from a control unit (3) controlled by a microcomputer. Sensors provide the control unit with signals for the control of the amount of fuel injection and adjustment of injection and adjustment of ignition point. The control unit characteristic fields are switched according to the sensor signals.
