PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which is not influenced by a result of recognition processing and prints only when it is possible to print numbering, etc., in a prescribed position. SOLUTION: A slip 1 which is sent to a carrying part 3 is read by an image sensor 6, and an image information IMG is generated by a read processing part 11 and stored in an image memory 12. The image information IMG stored in the memory 12 is read by a position determination part 13A, one side of the slip 1 in the information IMG is extracted, and it is determined whether the slip 1 exists in a prescribed range or not based on the coordinates of a start point and an end point of the side. When it is determined that it exists in the prescribed range, the part 13A outputs a processing signal to a print controlling part 15. The part 15 drives a print head 7 based on a print timing signal that is given from a carry distance detecting part 14 and prints in a print position of the slip 1 that has just reached the head 7. |
