<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally set a common electrode potential (Vcom) even for pictures of various frequencies. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a potential generation means 14 generating a plurality of common electrode potentials optimized for each frequency of various picture signals, a frequency measuring means 11 measuring periods of signals correlating with the picture signal frequencies, and a selection means 15 which selects one of the plural common electrode potentials according to the frequencies and impresses it on the common electrode of the liquid crystal panel. Thus, since the picture element electrode potential changes according to the frequencies of the picture signals, it can correspond to various kinds of picture signals, and various kinds of pictures such as, for example, VGA and SVGA or XGA can be displayed.</p> |
