PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microstructure composition for cosmetic, etc., having good storage stability without using surfactants, etc., by dispersing an oil phase permissible for cosmetics into water phase containingβ-glucan having a specified molecular weight at a specified ratio. SOLUTION: The oil phase comprising (A) a aliphatic hydrocarbon (e.g. squalane), vegetable oil (e.g. olive oil), animal oil (e.g. emu oil), wax (e.g. beeswax), fatty acid (e.g. lauric acid), aliphatic alcohol (e.g. lauryl alcohol) or aliphatic ester (e.g. isopropyl myristate), is dispersed into a water phase comprising 0.05-3.0 wt.% (based on total composition)β-1,3-glucan having 1×10<6> to 12×10<6> average molecular weight to provide the objective microstructure composition in which oil phase has 0.05-1,000μm average particle diameter. Furthermore, the composition has excellent storage stability without using surfactants and emulsifiers and is useful as a composition, etc., for cosmetics.
