PURPOSE:To obtain a chopper device, in which a thyristor is ignited by the generation of overvoltage and arc-extinguished quickly and the restart of load is enabled rapidly. CONSTITUTION:The thyristor 6 of an overvoltage control circuit 7 is ignited, a line breaker 2 is broken, and the GTO 9a of the negative-electrode side element group 9 of a reversible chopper circuit 10 is ignited. Accordingly, currents intending to flow from an induction motor 14 into the thyristor 6 are bypassed by the GTO 9a, and the currents of the thyristor 6 are attenuated quickly. |
