PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese input system for simply utilizing a newest KANA/KANJI (Japanese syllabary/Chinese character) conversion dictionary opened on internet. SOLUTION: A KANA/KANJI converting client 302 desiring to execute KANA/KANJI conversion through the use of the KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary 122 opened on internet 107 sends dictionary designating information designating uniform resource locator(URL) to a processor 301 being a server. The dictionary down-loading means 314 of the processor 301 down-loads the dictionary 122 from internet 107 based on URL, and a KANA/KANJI conversion server 315 reads it to use at the time of a KANA/KANJI converting request from the client 302. When a re-down-loading control means 316 detects the absence of a request for a fixed time from the client 302, the means 314 catches the opportunity and down-loads the dictionary 122 again and the server 315 uses a new dictionary down-loaded this time instead of an old dictionary. |
