PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct properly word wrap edit in the case of backward scrolling, without extending the processing time by displaying a message in a same unit as that of the case with 1st direction scrolling, based on display unit confirmation information in the case of scrolling in a 1st direction when scrolling is made in a 2nd direction. SOLUTION: A message decoded from a reception signal is stored in a RAM 7 by a CPU 5. The stored message is displayed on a liquid crystal display device 8. Due to the relation of a memory capacity, a copy of the received message is normally not generated, but a single original message is recorded in the RAM 7. In the case of scroll display for a long message on a pager, usually a forward scrolling is used. In the case of word-wrap processing in the forward scrolling, each space is replaced with a carriage return code to avoid interruption of a word. In the case of the backward scrolling, the return code is retrieved, and by displaying a next word, the word-wrap processing is conducted similarly as in the case with the forward scrolling. |
