PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video data recording/reproducing device making so that both of the improvement of reser's convenience through copying and the protection of writer's right are compatible. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a video data recording function means for recording the video data on a recording medium 2 with the protected signal form, a reproducing function means capable of reproducing the video data recorded on the recording medium by plural kinds of reproducing systems having different reproducing quality in the manner of releasing the protection, and a logical operating function means 8 for the release of protection to select the kinds of the reproducing systems by the reproducing function means, then the reproduction quality of the recorded video data is controlled. |
