<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of displaying information and recognizing display contents while suppressing the power consumption if necessary regardlessly of the state of a backlight, whereby reducing the power consumption as a whole and prolonging operating time. SOLUTION: A CPU 27 monitors a key input state from a keyboard 28, and when there is no key input for a preset time or longer, it judges the state as there is no external access, and sets a low power consumption display mode. In the low power consumption display mode, the CPU slows down the frame cycle or regularly inserts a specific pattern stored in a sub-memory 26 or regularly stops the power supply from a LCD power control device 22 to drive a LCD 21. Thus, the power consumption of the processor can be reduced as a whole while maintaining display screen capable of being recognized by a user, thereby prolonging the operating time of the processor.</p> |
