PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative type image recording material having excellent sensitivity at the time of recording by directly making a printing plate from digital data. SOLUTION: The negative type image recording material comprises a compound crosslinked by an acid, binder polymer, compound for generating acid by heat, and infrared ray absorbent. In this case, the compound crosslinked by the acid is at least one type of heterocyclic compound derivative represented by a formula, where Ar<1> denotes aromatic heterocycle having an unsaturated bond in the cycle, R<1> , R<2> independently denote hydrogen or hydrocarbon group having 12 or less carbon atoms, R<3> denotes hydrogen atom or -(R<4> O)n -R<5> , where R<4> denotes bivalent hydrocarbon group having 12 or less carbon atoms, R<5> denotes hydrogen atom or hydrocarbon group having 12 or less carbon atoms, n denotes integer of 2 to 4, and m denotes integer of 0 to 3. |
