PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the lithographic printing plate material having sufficient sensitivity to semiconductor laser beams and superior development latitude and capable of coping with a negative or positive type by incorporating a compound to be allowed to generate an acid by irradiation with activated rays and a compound having at least one bond decomposable by an acid and a light absorber having absorption in a specified wave-length and the like in this material on a support. SOLUTION: The positive type lithographic printing plate material contains the compound to be allowed to generate an acid by irradiation with activated rays and the compound having at least one bond decomposable by an acid and the light absorber having absorption in the >=440 nm wavelength and a compound having a functional group to be allowed to lose water repellence by nucleophilic substitution reaction on the support. This printing plate material to be used may contains at least one of the above acid decomposable compound, the above acid generator, the above light absorber.
