PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber of an alternate multilayered structure having optical functions to develop colors by reflection, interference, etc., of light. SOLUTION: This fiber having optical functions (1) comprises (A) a component composed of a polycarbonate containing 4,4'-hydroxydiphenyl-2,2-propane as a dihydric phenol component and (B) a component composed of polymethyl methacrylate, (2) is obtained by alternately laminating layers composed of the component A and layers composed of the component B and (3) has the thicknesses of the respective layers within the range of 0.02-0.3μm in the conjugated fiber having an alternate layered cross-sectional structure composed of at least the two polymer components.
