<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform positive driving control of a steering system even in the neutral state of a clutch and obtain excellent steering feelings in a small steering force area. SOLUTION: Friction engagement type two-way clutch mechanism 41, 51 consist of an input member 32b connected to a motor, an output member 34 arranged coaxially with the input member 32b and connected to a steering system, a tapered space part 61 formed between the inner peripheral surface of the input member 32b and the peripheral surface of the output member 34, an engaging member 62 interposed in the tapered space part 61, an enerigizing member 65 energizing the engaging member 62 in the tapered direction of the tapered space part 61, and a position control member 64 connected to a steering wheel in order to position the engaging member 62. In this case, the position control member 64 is arranged in a position separated from the engaging member 62 in the neutral state of a clutch. The input and output members in the neutral state are therefore put in the engaged state.</p> |
