PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthetic gas from an industrial waste having a high content of volatile matters by subjecting a charge material having a specified particle size to high temperature decomposition, cooling a synthetic gas produced by gasifying substances which have not been evaporated and removing HCL and/or NH3 and/or H3 S in the gas if any. SOLUTION: Solid constituents of an industrial waste material is subjected to pretreatment in order to reduce the maximum particle size to a size not larger than 20 cm and a charge material having the particle size is subjected to high temperature decomposition at a pressure around an atmospheric pressure at a temperature within the range of 350-550 deg.C within a horizontal reactor. The solid materials which have not undergone high temperature decomposition are discharged from an end of the high temperature reactor and the materials which have not been evaporated are gasified by using a combustion material (air or oxygen or oxygen-enriched air), using water or steam as required, at a pressure near the atmospheric pressure at a temperature within the range of 1200-1400 deg.C. Synthetic gas thus produced is cooled and condensate is removed if there is any and HCL and/or NH3 and/or H2 S are removed if there are any. |
