PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavating machine which can propulsively excavate the rockbed effectively even in the case hard rockbed and collapsible rockbed exist mixedly on the scheduled construction line for tunnel. SOLUTION: A screw conveyor 9 has a chute 8 consisting of a bottom plate 8a and side plates 8b, 8b arranged in an excavated soil take-in chamber 7 formed between a cutter plate 2 and bulkhead 6 of the body 1 of excavating machine, and the tail of the bottom plate 8a is attached to the front surface of the bulkhead 6 to generate a condition as confronting the soil take-in chamber 7, and communication is prepared to the transport starting part of the screw conveyor 9, and at excavating a hard sort rockbed, the rocks excavated by the cutter plate 2 are fed to inside the bottom plate 8a from a soil take-in hole formed between the tops of the side plates 8b, 8b of the chute 8 and carried out by the conveyor 9. At excavating a collapsible rockbed, the side plates 8b, 8b are accommodated in such a way as folded so that they are overlapped on the bottom plate 8a, and muddy water is injected into the soil take-in chamber 7 to fill it, and excavation is executed by the cutter plate 2 while collapse of the working face is prevented with the pressure of muddy water, and the soil from excavation is carried out backward by the conveyor 9. |
