PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner transfer failure and color slippage caused during toner-image transfer. SOLUTION: The device has an endless photoreceptive belt 1 which is rotated at specific peripheral speed while belt-supported by a plurality of rollers 2, 3, and 5, and allows the formation of electrostatic latent images on its periphery. The device also has a plurality of developing units 12B, 12Y, 12M, and 12C for forming toner images of different colors onto the photoreceptive belt by supplying toners to the electrostatic latent images, formed on the photoreceptive belt 1, thereby developing the electrostatic latent images. It further has an intermediate transfer drum 10 which is rotated at peripheral speed higher than that of the photoreceptive belt 1, allows the transfer of the toner images formed on the photoreceptive belt 1, and transfers them to paper 25 all at once. Here, a relationship between both the speeds is V2>V1>=0.99V2, wherein V1 is the peripheral speed of the photoreceptive belt and V2 is the peripheral speed of the intermediate transfer drum 10. |
