PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an image forming device and to control the increase of the irregular color of respective color toner images by providing an image carrier and an intermediate transfer body satisfying a specified condition. SOLUTION: A toner image forming device (14 to 17+ROS+D) is provided with the endless image carrier 16 which is rotated and moved, and forms the toner image in accordance with image information on the surface of the carrier 16. A primary transfer device 21 transfers the toner image on the surface of the carrier 16 to the surface of the intermediate transfer body B having an endless surface which is rotated and moved passing through a primary transfer area Q3 in the area Q3. Recording sheet carrying devices 35 to 38 and 40 carry a recording sheet S to a secondary transfer area Q4 so as to make it pass through the area Q4. A secondary transfer device T is arranged in a secondary transfer area and transfers the toner image transferred to the transfer body B to the sheet S so as to fix the toner image by a fixing device 41. When it is assumed that the peripheral length of the surface of the carrier 16 is D1, the peripheral length of the surface of the transfer body B is D2 and (q) is an integer, the carrier 16 and the transfer body B satisfy the relation D2=qD1+(1/2)D1. |
