At least two opposing side walls are provided with a support component (8, 9), which has a wall part (10) extending crossways on the side wall surface and which extends from the upper edge (6, 6') in the direction of the base and near the free upper edge forms a first support part (5, 5'). A second support part (7, 7') is located in the prolongation of the first support part. During stacking of the first crate (1) on the second crate (1') the second support of the first crate is supported on the upper edge (6') of the second crate. During nesting of the crates the second support part of the first crate is moved past the upper edge of the second crate along the first support part of the second crate.
