The band comprises a carrier strip comprising a cellulose web superimposed on a plastics film. A wax layer is deposited on the web for application to the skin to remove hair. Preferably, the heater comprises casing (5) with hinged cover (6), containing plate (12) heated by an electrical element and covered by hinged plate (14) on which the wax band is placed for heating. The element is connected to the mains supply or other power source. The cellulose web comprises cotton and viscose fibres bonded with resin, and is thicker than the plastics film, preferably of polyethylene, to which it is bonded by hot welding. |
