This pressure injection moulding machine for plastic, includes new location and mounting equipment for the two mould dies (23, 24), one for each platen (26 ,27) of the press. One platen (26) moves horizontally to open and close the mould, the other (27) is fixed. The novel equipment comprises two vertical tracks (31, 32) attached to the moving platen. A second pair of vertical tracks (34, 35) is attached to the fixed platen (27). Each mould die slides vertically in its rails. Below the rails two support blocks (33, 36) locate the mould dies, supporting their weight. Also claimed is the corresponding method of mounting a mould. The platens are parted with a few millimetres clearance beyond the total thickness of the dies. The mould dies are brought face to face, so that the sole plate tenons locate in the rails. The dies are then slid vertically, to rest against the horizontal stops on the platens, held in place vertically, under gravity. |
