An RF power amplifier system is provided including a plurality of the DC voltage sources of different magnitudes. An RF source provides an RF drive signa l. N RF actuatable power amplifiers are provided. Each amplifier, when actuated, is conn ectable to a selected one of the voltage sources for providing an RF output signal amplifie d in accordance with the magnitude with the selected voltage source. One or more of t he N RF power amplifiers are actuated in dependence upon the value of an input signal. O ne of the voltage sources is selectively connected to each of the actuated RF power amplif iers.
