The invention relates to a self-tuning control device (RE) for controlled systems (RST) comprising first and second controlled system components (RS1, RS2) to influence an output variable (T) which is to be controlled in an opposite direction of control action. After determination of the first control parameter (P1) which is tuned to the first controlled system component (RS1) and after activation of the controller (R) of the control device (RE), the second control parameter (P2) tuned to the second controlled system component (RS2) is determined by controlling the controlled system (RST) through the controller (R). The invention can, for instance, be used in self-tuning control devices for temperature controlled systems in plastic injection machines.
