A shop floor conveyor system has guided conveyor vehicles with driving wheels, running wheels and part conveyors for receiving workpieces to be conveyed or supplied to a machining or manufacturing process. The conveyor vehicles are guided in a track system embedded in the floor and powered by conductor rails laid therein via current collectors. The system includes various combinations of current, voltage and frequency measurement apparatuses for the initial and continuous monitoring of the operation of the power supply switchgear of the laid tracks by means of control panels with displays that can be read at a central location, as well as optical and acoustic warning systems and not-stop keys which automatically cut the power supply in the event of a short-circuit or overload, stopping the vehicles. The system also includes continuous control and measurement devices of the engine control at start and brake, with a control of the vehicle warning and stop lights. Control and testing devices of the locking and releasing positions of the part conveyors are also provided, as well as proximity detectors, in particular for personnel protection controls with at least one protection region all around the vehicle. Recognition devices emit signals to slow down the vehicles or trigger a stop instruction when persons or objects enter the protection zones. |
