<p>Novel 2'-onium salts of paclitaxel act as prodrugs in mammalian patients to yield paclitaxel in vivo. Methods of synthesizing these onium salts are disclosed, as are methods of treating patients suffering from paclitaxel-responsive diseases by administering effective amounts of the onium salts and pharmaceutical compositions containing the novel salts which are suitable for administration to patients requiring paclitaxel therapy.</p> |
