<p>A new process for the treatment of used gas bottles, particularly for acetylene, in which absorbent residues containing asbestos and/or mineral fibres comprises injection of a concentrated base solution producing a reaction resulting in a fluid slurry, evacuation of the slurry from the bottles, treatment of the slurry to eliminate asbestos and/or mineral fibres remaining, and recycling of the bottles for re-use.</p> |
