The invention refers to a variety of garlic (Allium sativum L.), named Ludar, obtained through the inter and intraclonal selection method, recommended for cultivation in the southern and south-eastern regions of the country, meant for consumption raw or processed and for the pharmaceutical industry. The plant has a semi-erect posture, with green-blue pruinose leaves. The bulb is white, weighing between 40 and 60 g and contains 15 - 23 very tight bulbils, covered with fine, white tunics, with purplish-blue shades. It is an early variety, highly resistant to viruses and nematodes, qualities owed to the regeneration and viral elimination of the biologic material through meristem cultures. The "Luris" variety has a high production capacity, ranging between 14 and 15 t/ha.
