A decade counter comprising four binary switching stages with feedback from the fourth to the second and third stages has neon indicator lamps 0-9 for the decimal digits, a neon tube N being connected between a line 23 which connects the " 6 " and " 7 " lamps and an output P 8 of the fourth switching stage. The tube N prevents spurious firing of the "6" and " 7 " lamps which would otherwise occur when the " 8 " and " 9 " lamps are fired. The binary stages may comprise tubes or transistors. U.S.A.
