Process for dyeing and printing cellulose materials in shades fast to wetness

Dyeings or prints of good wet-fastness properties on shaped structures, such as fibres or foils, of natural or regenerated cellulose are obtained by applying a water-soluble dyestuff (except a sulphur dyestuff) containing one or more thiosulphuric acid groups, and also applying before, during or after dyeing or printing an alkali or an alkaline reducing agent such as sodium carbonate, trisodium phosphate, sodium sulphide or sodium cyanide. The dyeings or prints are preferably finally steamed. The dyestuffs, which may contain additional solubilizing groups, such as sulphonic or carboxylic acid groups, may belong to the azo, anthraquinone, acridone, phenazine, dioxazine, diphenyl-methane, triphenylmethane, nitro or phthalocyanine series, and the thiosulphuric acid groups may be joined directly or through an aliphatic or aromatic radical bridge to the nucleus of the dyestuff. The dyestuffs employed in the examples are (1), and (2), those of the formulae (3), that obtained by coupling 3 mols. of diazo-tized 3-aminobenzyl-thiosulphuric acid, or (9), 3 mols. of diazotized 3-aminobenzene-sulphonyl-(methyl-amino)-b -ethyl-thiosulphuric acid with the reaction product of 1 mol. of nickel-phthalocyanine-trisulphochloride with 3 mols. of 1-(41-aminophenyl)-3-methyl-pyrazolone-(5); (4), that of the formula (5), that obtained by coupling 1 mol. of copper phthalocyanine-trisulphochloride with 3 mols. or (6), 4 mols. of 2-aminoethyl-thiosulphuric acid; (7), and (8), those of the formulae (10), 3-aminobenzene-sulphonyl-(methylamino)-b - ethyl-thiosulphuric acid --> 3-(21,31-hydroxy-naphthoylamino)-4-methoxy-benzyl -thiosulphuric acid; (12), and (13), those of the formulae (14), aniline-3:5-disulphonic acid --> 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone-41-sulphuric aicd conver-ting into the trisulphochloride and condensing with methylamino-b -ethyl-thiosulphuric acid; (15), that obtained by coupling 2 mols. of diazot-ized 3-aminobenzene-sulphonyl-(methylamino)-b -ethylthiosulphuric acid with 1 mol. of 2:5-bis-(acetoacetylamino)-toluene; and (16), that obtained by condensing 1 mol. of 1:4-diami-noanthraquinone-bis-(4-tolyl-5-sulphochloride) with 2 mols. of b -amino-ethyl-thiosulphuric acid.
