The invention relates to new piperidinoalkyl aryl ethers of formula (I), wherein R means hydrogen or a C1-4alkyl group; X stands for hydrogen; halogen; C1-4alkyl; C1-4alkoxy; phenyl; 2,3-(CH=CH)2-; 3,4-(CH=CH)2-; or 3,4-(CH2)3-CO-group; n is an integer from 2 to 4; v is an integer from 1 to 5; m is an integer from 1 to 3; Y means hydrogen or halogen, as well as their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts. The invention relates also to a process for the preparation of compounds of formula (I), as well as to pharmaceutical compositions containing the compounds of formula (I) as active ingredients. The compounds of the invention are new and possess a significant biological activity, such as antioxidant (lipid peroxidation-inhibiting), antihypoxic and antiamnesic effects.
