The seal is intended for sealing a first component (1) against a second component (2). It incorporates a guide groove (4) in the component (1), a deformable sealing element (8) with a diameter (d) to be introduced into the guide groove, and a groove (6) in the component (2) partially accommodating the sealing element. The sum of the groove depths (t1) and (t2) is less than the diameter (d) of the sealing element in non-deformed state. At the same time, (t1) is not equal to (t2).
