Coupling element for fuel cells in serial fuel cell stack

The element has a part (1) which provides the electrical connection between the fuel cells (5), a part (2) for supply and/or discharge of the operating medium, a part (3) for gas-tight separation of the anode and cathode spaces and a sealing ring (4). The first part is U-shaped and acts as a container for the remaining parts fitted between the adjacent fuel cells, with the sealing ring positioned on its outside for providing a seal between the fuel cell electrolyte and the first part.
