摘要 A tubular endoprosthesis (1) is provided for implantation in a hollow organ of a human or animal body. An outer cover surface of said prosthesis (1) is formed by a strip (2) which is wound in the form of a helix (2). The strip consists of members (5) which are located one behind the other and interconnected in its longitudinal direction. These members (5) can extend in the longitudinal direction of the strip by modifying their shape. In order to achieve good axial bendability and a high level of radial extensibility and guarantee adequate support for the body tissue, sections of the strip (A) which are adjacent in the axial direction of the prosthesis (1) are interconnected by webs (10), which allow for some distance between the adjacent sections of the strip (A) in the axial direction of the prosthesis (1).
