The method involves forming a metal strip (1) to a profile, in which the strip is rolled around the imaginary tube circumference. The metal strip can be formed with cross sectional undulations at least on a part of its length, in which its longitudinal fibres, over the strip width define different thicknesses of curves. The beginning of the circumferential form extension across the extrusion direction (ZR) lies directly (s) through a transverse to the extrusion direction plane at the end of the circumferential form extension. At the other side, on the same length, the circumferential form extension of each section defines a rectangle across the extrusion direction (ZR).
