Production of low molecular weight polyether-poly:alcohols with low alkylene glycol content

The novel feature in the production of polyetherpolyalcohols of molecular weight 200-600 by solid phase adducting of an alkylene oxide with an OH group-containing compound (I) at 120 deg C/1013 mbar is that there is now used a mixture of water content below 1 wt.% comprising (I) and a further OH group-containing material (II) which is liquid at 120 deg C/1013 mbar. The mixture is also claimed per se and comprises 50-95 mol.% (I), which is solid at 120 deg C/1013 mbar, and 5-50 mol.% (I), which is liquid at 120 deg C/1013 mbar.
