Production of polymer=modified bitumen from used elastomer(s)

Production of polymer-modified bitumen from distillate bitumen (mixture) and a blown bitumen, and 1-15 wt.% used elastomer mixture from a Flexo-printing plate production, comprises preparing the used elastomers for addition to bitumen and purifying so that: (a) the used elastomers in the form of foils or plates containing styrene-isoprene-styrene and/or styrene-butadiene-styrene triblock copolymers, and (meth)acrylate monomers are fixed on a polyester carrier, crushed in a mill (1) under water to a particle sizes of <= 5 /* 5 mm and the mixture then transferred to a water trough (2); (b) the used elastomers from a printing plate production being in a ball-form are cut in a guillotine (3) into blocks of 5 x 5 x 5 to 10 x 10 x 10 cm, the blocks are transferred to a sluice (4) and fed from there into a kneader (5) having de-gasifiers comprising a vacuum pump (6) and condensers (7), then they are liquefied at 150 deg C and degassed, and converted into granules of <= 5 /* 5 mm; (c) both granulate product streams from the prepared production waste and processed waste in a ratio of 95-5 : 5-95 are fed to a trough (2) and transferred over a balance (10), from there over screw conveyors or band conveyors (11) and continuously dosed into funnels of at least two turbine stirrers in one or more vessels (15) filled with bitumen heated to 160-200 deg C. The bitumen-polymer mixture obtained is conveyed into an intermediate storage tank (17) and post homogenising, before feeding to the shipment (19).
