Bulking treatment of non-woven

A non-woven is spun directly from filaments which are drawn to 50 - 70% of the maximum possible draw ratio and then pressed and welded by a pair of rollers. It is then treated by a second pair of rollers (10a, 10b) according to Patent DE19547319. The surface of the second pair of rollers is made of metal and the positive roller (10a) has rows of projections (11) which mesh with the valleys (14) formed by axial strips (13) on the negative roller (10b).
