Climbing equipment operated by body power

The equipment allows ascent and descent using the climber's body power, with positive or friction attachment to one or more ropes. Two or more rope grips (4) are provided, together with components (5) connecting them together. The distance between the grips is varied by the climber's body movements. The grips and components can together form a parallelogram with hinges at the corners. Alternatively there can be a double parallelogram forming a scissor mechanism. The connecting components can be elastic, while a seat (8) can be suspended from the top component or mounted on the bottom one.
