The table has a baseplate and a cover plate connected by columns that also form the feet. One column is flanged-mounted to each corner of a right-angled frame (1) on which the baseplate rests. The baseplate is penetrated by the columns. The upper portion of the columns are flange-mounted to another right-angled frame (4), on which a cover plate (5) rests. The cover plate has openings (6) for an additional equipment mount and/or a bore for the pivot of a bearing device. The surface between the baseplate and the cover plate has a cladding which is connected by magnetic force to the columns, and may include lights.
