A cylindrical plastic container with a lid (2) and handle (4) contains two vessels (15,16) for carrying food and keeping it hot. The vessels are located within a water chamber which has two parts made from copper and soldered together. The lower part (14) contains water and the upper part acts as a steam cylinder. An electrical element (20) supplied from an accumulator (23) heats the water and steam rises to the steam cylinder and enters the food vessels (15,16). Condensed water re -enters the lower chamber (14) for recirculation. The water chamber is heavily insulated by aluminium plated polystyrene (10,11) and glass wool (12). Cutlery is carried in the handle (5).
