The stand has a contact surface (roadway) to carry the weight of a motor vehicle and below it a weighbridge together with at least one wheel drive unit and vehicle support unit. The support unit (21) has linked with it a coupling mechanism (26,27) for selective alignment of the vehicle weight on the contact surface (17) or the weighbridge (13). The support unit can consist of upper and lower support pillars forming a hydraulic chamber between them and the upper pillar can have a support arm coupled with the vehicle contact surface.
