Rotary selector valve directing water flow in washing machine to selected locations

The rotary selector valve (8) of this washing machine (1) directs water flow through an inlet (7), to one of several selected outlets (9-12). The valve (8) includes a selector arm (13), set to diverse output positions by a servomotor (14) actuated by a control unit. The setting is sensed. In the new design, The sensing includes a switch and switching track. During positioning of the selector arm, the switch moves relatively, along this track. Track interruptions correspond with outlet positions of the selector arm. They divide the track into sections of differing length. A timer measures switch actuation.
