<p>There is provided a lock controlled multi-compartment storage and retrievable device which has a compartment carrier (11) having compartments. The compartments are supported relative to a cover which has an access opening which can sequentially be over respective compartments. The device has locking means (A, B, 41, 39) which is controllable by controlling means (64, 63) to release locking for permitting relative movement of the carrier (11) and the opening. The controlling means (64, 63) has a first mode of operation where a first movement can be implemented which is relative movement for the carrier (11) to the opening in one direction. It also has a second mode of operation where a second movement can be implemented which is relative movement of carrier (11) to the opening in the opposite direction. In a further example, it also has a third mode of operation where a third movement can be implemented which is relative movement of the carrier (11) to the opening so all the compartments can be accessed.</p> |
