The present invention discloses a non-piercing, non-shearing fastener (10), die button (40), fastener and panel assembly and method for installing the fastener. The fastener (10) has a head with a barrel, the barrel defines a cavity or pocket. The barrel cavity receives a portion of the panel and the panel is forced around the outer barrel wall to wrap the panel material around the barrel to lock the fastener into the panel. The barrel also includes anti-rotation formations.
