A slide or seal member (1) which is suitable to be used in either a cartridge or syringe barrel includes a support portion (2) and syringe contact portion (5). The member is open at one end (3), and the contact portion is formed as a fin with a radius larger than the remainder of the member. Radial walls may optionally be included. The member is manufactured from PTFE and other commonly used materials.
