The chip card comprises a multi-function chip, in which a voice characteristic for the identification of a legitimate user through an external computer is stored in form of a voice-print and/or a voice image. A number of operating functions are stored in the multi-function chip, which can be selectively activated for use through the legitimate user. The operating functions may include a telephone function in a communications network, use of the chip card as electronic currency, for access control to a building or a computer, or for data storage, e.g. for medical data. |
