A fuel injection system for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine has at least one fuel injection valve (1) with a fuel inlet (14) at an inflow section (3) and a fuel distributing pipe (4) having for each fuel injection valve (1) a fuel outlet (10) that can be linked to the fuel inlet (14) of the fuel injection valve (1) and a connecting pipe section (5) downstream of the fuel outlet (10). According to the invention, a connecting device (18, 20) is provided to connect the fuel inlet (14) of each fuel injection valve (1) to the associated fuel outlet (10) of the fuel distributing pipe (4). The connecting device (18, 20) has a ring-shaped packing (20) and a bushing (18) that can be inserted into the fuel inlet (14). The ring-shaped packing (20) has a first sealing element (28) for sealing the packing (20) with respect to the inflow section (3) of the fuel injection valve (1) and a second sealing element (32) for sealing the packing (20) with respect to the connecting pipe section (5) of the fuel distributing pipe (4). |
