<p>The invention is a roll package and the method of making the package. A body to be enclosed has a longitudinal axis. A first layer (27) of material is axially wrapped on the body (21) with the first layer extending generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. A second (35) and a third layer (36) are then radially wrapped over the first layer in a direction generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The second layer (35) is a protective cushion layer which extends adjacent the ends of the body and extends inwardly to protect the edges of the body being enclosed.</p> |
