The invention relates to a method for producing butenyl ethers of formula (I) CH3-CH=CH-CH2-OR by reacting butadiene or hydrocarbon flows containing butadiene with alcohols of formula (II) ROH at a high temperature and high pressure in the presence of transition metal complexes containing ligands of compounds of elements from group five of the periodic table of elements to form an isomeric mixture of butenyl ethers of formula (I) and butenyl ethers of formula (III) CH2=CH-CH(OR)-CH3 and isomerization of butenyl ether of formula (III) to butenyl ethers of formula (I), wherein R represents an alkyl or alkenyl group with 1 to 20 C atoms, an aryl group with 6 to 10 C atoms or an aralkyl group with 7 to 11 C atoms and wherein radicals R can be substituted by hydroxy or alkoxy groups, wherein a complex of a transition metal of group (VIII) of the periodic table of elements is used as a catalyst with ligands of formula (IV), wherein R<1> stands for hydrogen or an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aryl radical with up to 24 C atoms and R<2> to R<5> stands for identical or different radicals, selected from hydrogen or alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl radicals with up to 24 C atoms, wherein the radicals R<2> and R<3> and the radicals R<4> and R<5> can form together an isocyclic or heterocyclic ring and X stands for phosphorus, arsenic or antimony. |
