<p>An apparatus for mixing animal feed comprises a trough (10) having a curved floor and a shaft (17) rotatably mounted at the centre of curvature of the floor. A plurality of paddles (19) are fixed to the shaft (17) for mixing feed in the trough as the shaft is rotated. The floor (15) of the trough has two rows of slots (21) through which respective blades (23) may project to cut the feed as it is being mixed. The blades (23) may be withdrawn from the slots (21) by a hydraulic cylinder if it is desired that mixing should take place without cutting.</p> |
