A process for forming a long resin-coated metal sheet into a cylindrical container in the highest possible yield by drawing or by drawing and ironing so as to reduce the unnecessary portions other than the blank to be punched and to reduce the edges when formed in to a cylinder; and a resin-coated cylindrical container produced thereby. In this process, a long resin-coated metal sheet is punched into a generally hexagonal shape whose opposed sides are parallel and whose corners are round, and formed into a cylindrical container by drawing or by drawing and ironing. |
